During termination of employment contract, I have to serve 3 months notice period AND pay 3 months salary worth. I didn't know that usually it should only be either one. Is this enforceable?

there is a 6 months clause for joining a same trade. must they company pay me for the restriction for it to be valid or can the company sue me if I were to join another company of the same trade ?
