My company forces employees to work more than 44 hours a week and no OT for the excess of 44 hours. Is the comoany act illegal ? If yed can i use it as breaching of contract and terminate the contract?

is it legal to be told to be on stand by over time work on an off day? and if cant work on d day to find someone to cover also must pay back on next off some more for us to find replacement if applying AL.
