How many types of Will are there? By that, I mean is there one type specifically for trustee to manage deceased sole-name accounts, and another type for his/her joint-name accounts?

No. A person should only make a single will which deals with all his assets.

  • But the bank said my probate only applicable for deceased's estate, therefore cannot close deceased's joint name account. Only single-name account. Also not stated so in Will. May I ask then isn't a Will no better than without, and let public trustee handle everything ... hassle-free and cheaper with Court backing? Appears probate is meaningless though time & money spent to have Court endorsement. Thank you. hullet 23/06/2016
