is it legal to be told to be on stand by over time work on an off day? and if cant work on d day to find someone to cover also must pay back on next off some more for us to find replacement if applying AL.

    It is not clear what your query is. Generally speaking, you are protected under the Employment Act in respect of the length of time that you are required to work only if you are either a workmen who receives less than S$4,500 a month as basic salary, or if your basic salary is less than S$2,000 a month. Apart from that, your working hours (and standby) are a matter of contract between you and your employer.
