    You could seek to enforce the loan, which is a personal contract between you and your friend. However, it might be practically difficult to do this without incurring legal costs exceeding the amount of the loan. The Small Claims Tribunal, which would have been an easy way of enforcing a contract, does not hear cases involving personal loans.
